Intricate Decoration

When I visited that jewelry haberdashery first I was quite smitten of the material as the object of the manufacturing. There were a lot of different size, colors and kinds of nature stones in the shop. They were placed on the floor, on the window sills, on the numerous shelves, on and under the work benches. This material does not look clean and nice. But I felt its appeal which couldn't be explained though I saw a lot of pretty stone things on the special shelf in a room at the shop. Then I hadn't got an idea of making my own stone jewelry box or anything else yet. I only wondered if it was possible to elaborate such the strong and hard material with woman's hands as I met two beautiful ladies working at that jewelry haberdashery. Later I knew that experienced lapidaries could be able to build the perfect box and find a great deal of enjoyment in the process. And I even got an opportunity to try using their workbenches and learning some professional secrets. They told me how to choose convenient material in depend of the goal. I learned to distinguish such the semi-precious stones like green copper carbonate, gem jade, ax stone, opal and others. I had never thought I could be able to elaborate a simplest piece of gem jade in a proper manner. I was explained that I should have to pass every stage of processing to get wished result. A large thin jasper piece of veneer was given to me. The tutor ordered the sizes of the box's sides and showed me the project. I realized that I had got the expensive and one-off material. There are no two identical stones in the nature. So I ran to work with this lovely material. It was uncomplaining thanks for its noble nature. It didn't scale off when I cut and abraded it. It didn't run away when I furbished it on the woolen glazer. My hands became strong and harsh as there was always stone dust and cold water. Falling asleep I dreamed my box's sides lost or scaled off on the glazer. But my hands and fingers was never sick during my practice at the jewelry haberdashery. I was not going to deal my life with manufacturing of the boxes, but this box became the proof of my ability to work with hands and appreciate highly nature material. I save this box as the dearest part of my memory.
